City Council Chairman Wants Tree Planting to Be Intensified"Why should we plant trees? Jakarta does need adequate green open space. The number is being gradually increased and we continue to plant trees. In the past few years, we have planted more than six million vegetation trees in Jakarta," he expressed, Friday (12/6).
He explained today's planting was also spotted in the mangrove area and other administrative areas by Jakarta Distamhut. "I hope it can create a more shady and beautiful atmosphere. Then, these plants can also supply oxygen to living things," he explained.
The action in all areas of Jakarta received appreciation from him. He invited residents to also conduct the same action in their environment, school, and office.
"Hopefully, they can support it," he exclaimed.
He added that the Jakarta administration also made synergy with several parties to plant trees in various areas. Even, it is a routine agenda.
"We have a Friday Planting program, and there is also Wednesday Menoping. We are trying to continue to increase the number of trees by planting in several places. It is not only at the provincial level, but also at the city level and synergizes with various parties, both private and community," he added.
As for the information, the City Secretary also spread fish seeds in the lake at Ragunan Zoo.
